THIS SHOW IS AGES 18+ ONLY – NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE

 

For auditions, please come prepared to read scenes from the script. Audition sides can be found here: AUDITION SIDES

 

You do not need to have the sides memorized but should be familiar with them.

 

• If you are needed for callbacks, you will be notified by email the evening of Tuesday, September 5th to return on Wednesday, September 6th

 

Rehearsals:

Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday & Thursdays from 6:30-9:30pm and Saturdays from 10:00am-1:00pm, however this schedule is subject to change based on cast availability if needed.

 

Please bring a list of all known conflicts to auditions as this will help to determine the final schedule.

The first rehearsal is on Tuesday September 12th at 630pm – It will be an ALL CALLED Read-Through.   It is mandatory for everyone to attend and fill out paperwork.

 

 A final schedule with conflicts and scene breakdown will be provided to you by the end of the first week of rehearsal.

Tech Week is Sunday, November 5th – Thursday, November 9th.

NO CONFLICTS WILL BE ALLOWED DURING TECH – There are no exceptions to this.

Character Descriptions:

 

PAUL SHELDON

AGE 35 – 55

Paul Sheldon is the main protagonist of Misery. He is the author of the Misery Chastain novel series and is imprisoned by Annie Wilkes (his self-described “number one fan”) after a devastating car crash. Paul is subject to (and terrified of) Annie’s fits of rage and Mental & Physical Abuse, spends most of the play unable to use legs.

 

 

ANNIE WILKES

AGE 30 – 45

Annie Wilkes is a former nurse and the main antagonist of Misery. She is the perfect example of a mentally unstable obsessed fan, who kidnaps her favorite writer and holds him hostage. A reclusive individual who lives by herself, she is obsessed with the Misery Chastain novels by Paul Sheldon and has difficulty distinguishing between them and reality.

 

 

BUSTER

AGE 30 – 60

Buster is the local sheriff investigating the disappearance of Paul Sheldon, only has 3 scenes in the show.
