You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension- a dimension of self-discovery, a dimension of story, a dimension of character. You're moving into a world of both happiness and friendships, of memories and FUN! You've just crossed over into . . . the CSA Zone.

All classes will be held online via Zoom. Classes run for 6 weeks, beginning the week of August 24 and ending October 1. Scholarships are available and applications are due August 21.  

CSA Zone Classes

Virtual Play: The Monsters are Due on Maple Street

Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30-5:30 pm

Ages 13+

Fee: $150

Teaching Artist: Denise Parton

This adaptation of the classic story is rewritten for Zoom. The students will delve into the story and how it relates to events today. The class will meet twice a week for six weeks. The class is 45 minutes to 1 hour in duration. The class will culminate in a performance recorded on Zoom. There will then be a live watch party on facebook that friends and parents can attend. The recording will then be uploaded on YouTube.

Ages 9-12

Monsters have problems too. The world sees them as vicious and mean creatures, but deep down inside, they have issues like everybody else. They just want to be loved, supported, and understood. Monsters Anonymous support group may just be the answer to monster problems.

This class will meet once a week for 45 minutes. Students are encouraged to create costumes for their characters. Play will be done Zoom style. There will then be a live watch party on facebook that friends and parents can attend. The recording will then be uploaded on YouTube.

The Stage is Lava! Interactive Theater Game Show!

Tuesdays 5:45-6:30 pm

Ages 9-18

The Stage is Lava!

The Stage manager has called places and the curtain is opening. Can you make it in front of the audience if The Stage Is Lava? This interactive class/theater game teaches students to work in teams. Team members must answer questions correctly and/or perform a scene to reach certain areas of the stage and eventually reach the audience. This class sharpens theatrical skills and acting skills in an exciting and challenging way.

Story Time

Tuesdays 5:30-6:00 pm

Ages 5-8

Fee: $80

This class is for our mini performers and is a basic introduction to character development.

Your student will listen to six different books over this session. There will be an interactive discussion about the story and the unique characters that bring it to life. Book titles will be announced before hand to allow students to dress up in character if they wish before class begins.

The Wiggle Room

Wednesdays 5:30-6:00 pm

Ages 5-8

Give your mini performers some wiggle room to work out all that bundled up energy! This fun interactive dance class will teach basic dance moves with some fun tunes! This class meets once a week.

CSA Choir

Mondays 5:00-6:00 pm

Ages 12-18

Fee: $90

Teaching Artist: Nathaniel Chase Paul

 

Join CSA’s Choir, directed by Nathaniel Chase Paul. This class will work on articulation and individual parts. The class will work on four pieces, the CSA Alma Mater, a full-length musical theater and two barber shop tags. The class will culminate in a showcase performance and the premiere of CSA’s Alma Mater. Students must have earbuds and a mic and basic recording skills to attend class.

Glamour & Gore

Thursdays 6:00-6:45 pm

Ages 9-18

Fee: $100 plus additional $25 for make-up kit

Calling all aspiring make-up artists! Learn all the techniques of creating “the face.” This class will explore basic stage make up, old age, glamour, fantasy, and gore.

ART: Drawing and Watercolors 1

Tuesdays 4:30-5:15 pm

Ages 9-11

Fee: $100 plus additional $25 for the Fall art kit 

Teaching Artist: Tabby Loyal 

Explore techniques and media that will really make your art pop! Students will discuss some master works, modern artists and fun techniques to improve your drawings and paintings. We will begin our pieces each week together to receive real time feedback.

Fee: $100 plus additional $25 for the Fall art kit

Build on your art foundation with new techniques and media that will take your art to the next level. Students will discuss master works, modern artists and techniques to improve your drawings and paintings. Students will work in real time with the group and receive feedback as well as group discussion of finished projects.

Classes are available as a bundle of 3 or to purchase individually. The cost for a bundle of 3 classes is $250. An additional $25 for supplies will be applicable for Glamour and Gore and Art classes.
