Auditionees for this show must be at least 16 years of age

MATERIAL:

Prepare a 1-minute song in the style of the show. Please bring your own track and device for playback as an accompanist will not be provided. Come prepared to move during your audition, however not everyone will be asked to dance.

(If you are needed for callbacks, you will be notified by email TUESDAY, OCT 15th to return on WEDNESDAY, OCT 16th.)

 

REHEARSALS:

MONDAY, TUESDAY and THURSDAY evenings and occasional SATURDAYS if needed

(Rehearsals are tentatively scheduled, and are subject to change based on cast availability if needed.)

 

READ THROUGH:

MONDAY, OCT 21st (7:00pm)

(It will be an ALL CALLED Read-Through in the Gallery. It is mandatory for everyone to attend and fill out paperwork.)

 

Please bring a list of all known conflicts to auditions as this will help to determine the final schedule. 

A final schedule with conflicts and scene breakdown will be provided to you by the end of the first week of rehearsals.

TECH WEEK:

SUNDAY, JANUARY 5th, 2025 – THURSDAY, JANUARY 9th, 2025

 

SHOW DATES:

JANUARY 10th-26th, 2025 | FRIDAYS (7:30pm),  SATURDAYS (2pm & 7:30pm), & SUNDAYS (2pm)

Strike will immediately follow the performance on SUNDAY, JANUARY 26th and is mandatory.

 

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:

 

NATALIE HALLER — Early 20’s, a mechanic.

 

CHAD — 20’s, a great-lookin’, motorcycling, guitar-playing, leather-jacketed roustabout.

 

JIM HALLER — mid 40’s-50’s, Natalie’s widowed father.

 

SYLVIA — mid 40’s, the no-nonsense, African-American owner of SYLVIA’S HONKY-TONK.

 

LORRAINE — Sylvia’s 16 year-old daughter.

 

DENNIS — a young, awkward, aspiring dentist.

 

MISS SANDRA — the beautiful, intellectual caretaker of the town’s museum.

 

MAYOR MATILDA HYDE — mid 40’s-50’s, the town’s conservative mayor.

 

DEAN HYDE — Matilda’s 16 year-old son. He has grown up at a military boarding school.

 

SHERIFF EARL — mid 40’s-50’s, the law in town. A man of not many words.
