Miranda Reed

Miranda is a creative mover from Nashville, Tennessee. She is drawn to somatic movement and exploring her own strengths and limitations though contemporary dance. At Middle Tennessee State University, she minored in Dance Studies while completing her bachelor’s in teaching and education and was a member of the MTSU Dance Theater company. Alongside her career in Education, Miranda currently dances professionally for Fresh Congress Dance Company, teaches at several local studios, and choreographs for Murfreesboro’s Center of The Arts. Miranda’s pursuit of performance and professional Dance is her mode of connecting to her community through shared stories, research and choreographic process’.  Dance is a passion and a profession for her, but most importantly a safe place that Miranda has always come back to. Above all else, she believes that dance should be accessible and safe for anyone to feel, explore, and express themselves.

Q Rankins

Quantavius “Q” Rankins is a Nashville Native who is honored to be teaching for CSA. He is trained in over 10 styles of dance and finds it fulfilling to be able to impart his wisdom in the same community he grew up in. His credits include the Millennium Dance Complex in both Nashville and Los Angeles, 20 years of performer experience, and in 2019 he embarked as a featured dancer on a World tour performing across the UK and America. Q has been a teaching artist for the past nine years. He has taught masterclasses at MDC Nashville, Belmont University, MTSU, etc… He has also been a mainstage choreographer around Middle Tennessee and was nominated for “Best Choreography” by his community. He is also a proud alum of the MTSU Performing Arts Company. Outside of CSA, Q adores books and spending time with his best friends. He is also the proud choreographer for the musical theatre department at Oakland High School.

Darcy Pingel

Darcy Pingel has been acting and directing since she was a young girl who loved creating little song-and-dance shows for her family. She spent most of her childhood training in multiple dance disciplines, performing in musicals, and singing for anyone that would listen. As an adult, Darcy has worked on multiple production teams as director, choreographer, and costumer, but her first love is being on the stage. She regularly performs in local community theatre and spent two summers performing in a regional summer stock theatre in West Yellowstone, MT. Darcy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from BYU-Idaho and currently works as a substitute teacher for Murfreesboro City Schools.

Seth Pratt

Seth Pratt is a Tennessee native who is so excited to be a part of this community of teaching artists. Seth has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre from Middle Tennessee State University with a focus on performance and directing and has been performing professionally in the Middle Tennessee area for the last three years. Outside of Theatre, Seth loves to spend his time cooking, playing video games, and exploring the outdoors on his awesome rollerblades. Seth’s core belief as an artist and as an educator is that Theatre has the power to transform; through theatre education Seth seeks to not only produce wonderful performers, but wonderful people as well.

Anna Vogler

Anna Vogler is a graduate of Belmont University, where she received her Bachelor of Music in Classical Vocal Performance with a focus in German Studies. She teaches voice at Stewarts Creek High School and with the Vocal Academy at The Center for the Arts. Anna values the importance of creating a safe environment that fosters student growth. She encourages students to embrace the learning process as they hone their craft, making note of the journey, not only the destination.

Haylee Casper

A native of Middle Tennessee, Haylee Casper is a classically trained mezzo-soprano with a passion for performance and teaching. She recently graduated from Middle Tennessee State University, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Music. Dedicated to nurturing all types of musicians, Haylee strives to instill ambition, confidence, and passion in her students. She is currently teaching voice at the Center for the Arts and a few surrounding Rutherford County schools.

Amy Zerner

Amy Zerner is a Nashville native with a degree in Vocal Music Education from Middle Tennessee State University. She has twenty-seven years of experience in the public school system teaching choir and general music to students in grades K-12. Over her career she has directed or co-directed shows including Anything Goes, Carnival, Annie Jr., Cinderella Jr., as well as many plays. At the Center she has been involved in four years of productions including Finding Nemo Jr., Mean Girls, and Spongebob the Musical. Her goal is to inspire a love of music in the hearts of children and create a safe space for young performers to engage with one another while developing their acting and singing talents.

Sarah Robinson

Sarah is thrilled to be teaching at CFTA. She previously taught beginner tap, jazz, and ballet at Premier Arts in Indiana, where she also choreographed several children’s shows and camps. At CFTA, Sarah has brought her creativity to the stage by choreographing The Wizard of Oz and is currently working on SpongeBob. She is passionate about inspiring young performers and helping students grow in both skill and confidence.

Cat Glidwell

Cat Glidwell is an experienced educator and passionate theatre professional with 11 years of teaching experience and over 25 years of artistic practice. She holds certifications in Shakespeare from Oglethorpe University and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, as well as a background in theatre management from New York University (NYU). She has performed in over 100 productions all over the southeast and has experience as a director, choreographer, stage manager, music director, and costume designer. Cat’s teaching philosophy is rooted in creating a safe, inclusive, and accepting space where children can express themselves creatively, building not only artistic skills, but also essential life skills. She believes that through the arts, students can develop critical social-emotional skills, grow in self-confidence, and find a healthy outlet for their creativity. She is dedicated to nurturing each student’s individual artistic journey while encouraging the importance of ensemble collaboration and mutual respect amongst peers.

Our Production Classes are for everyone from beginners to advanced performers.  Our goal is developing and enhancing theatrical performance through instruction in acting, music/voice, and movement/dance.  Production Classes will culminate with a full production or showcase at the end of the session.

Center Stage Academy Closure Policy

The Center for the Arts is closed on all National Holidays.  Weather related closures are based on Rutherford County and Murfreesboro City Schools.  If either school system is closed due to inclement weather, all educational programming is cancelled.  For individual lessons please contact your teacher directly.
